That's Our Africa

South Africa, incomparable in diversity and a “melting pot” of cultures at the most beautiful end of the world! This land promises the visitor “The World In One Country“ and this truism brings us to the point of what excites us about South Africa:
Breathtaking landscapes, mountains and passes, pristine and ever-expanding wildlife and nature reserves, unspoilt beaches, exciting animal encounters, the unbelievable sunsets and boundless night skies in the bush, exotic smells, culinary delights, pulsating cities and the legendary hospitality!
The “new” South Africa has 11 official languages, with English being the most commonly spoken language in official and commercial public life. Other official languages are (in alphabetical order): Afrikaans, Ndebele, North- and South Sotho, Swati, Tsonga, Tswana, Venda, Xhosa, Zulu.
The transition to democracy, introduced with the first official “free and fair” General Elections held in April 1994 and which saw the end of Apartheid in South Africa, a nation of more than 45 million inhabitants, was regarded as largely peaceful by the international community.
Today South Africa has nine provinces and its inhabitants are known for their hospitality and friendliness, which your visit will surely be a testimony to!
The country is situated on the Africa’s southern tip and occupies an area nearly three times that of California. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the West and by the Indian Ocean on the South and East. Its neighbours are Namibia in the North-West, Zimbabwe and Botswana in the North, and Mozambique and Swaziland in the North-East. The kingdoms of Lesotho and Swaziland form independent enclaves within South Africa.
South Africa is characterised by a diversity of geographical and climatic regions: be it the semi-desert in the Karoo to the lush, subtropical KwaZulu-Natal coast, the mild Mediterranean climate in the scenic Cape or the African Bush in the Mpumalanga area, world-famous for its fantastic game-viewing.
Discover and experience the vast array of breathtaking landscapes, which tempt you to explore them! Hike in the majestic mountains, experience wildlife up-close-and-personal in any of the fantastic game reserves, talk a walk on an endless beach, enjoy modern city-scapes and feel the warm sunshine on your skin for close to 365 days a year.... !
According to the latest surveys, Cape Town and South Africa rate as one of the top five destinations in the world (and climbing!) that one should visit. A very good infrastructure and an ideal climate are further plus points.
The country, the people of South Africa and we will ensure that you will experience countless inspiring places and will explore new horizons. That’s a promise!
Namibia, in the South-West of Africa, shares borders with Angola and Zambia in the north, Botswana in the east and South Africa in the south, is in its appearance so without comparison that one finds it hard to describe this bizarre and sometimes surreal country. MYSTICAL might be a good word!
What is beautiful about a desert, wild and deserted coastline, virtually barren mountain chains and endless open spaces one might ask oneself from afar? Then, closer up, one stands in awe of the dune landscapes that even the most daring landscape architect could not have created more spectacular! The Namib, oldest desert with the highest dunes in the world (up to 300m high), appears to know no limits and stretches as an ochre-coloured hill-and-dale landscape endlessly over the horizon. A visit to the Himba tribe and the unique game parks such as the Etosha National Park, or a breathtaking hot air balloon flight over the desert near Sossusvlei are but some of the highlights that will captivate you! Couple that with being kissed by a Cape fur seal in Walvis Bay, visiting the German ghost diamond mining town of Kolmanskop or stalking desert elephant or the rare black Rhino, being welcomed by Namibia’s warm and friendly people, and you have an experience you will carry with you for a lifetime!!
Travelling through Namibia awakens your emotions and senses - colours become brighter, smells more intensive, one’s hearing more keen, the touch more sensitive and your taste more appreciative. Your sixth sense finds its mystical home and above all, you re-connect with your inner soul!
Let us invite you on a very special journey!
Botswana, one of the last true natural paradises on our planet, awaits your discovery! Experience extraordinary wildlife and safaris in a class of their own.
The country is renowned for its seemingly endless and magnificent landscapes, as well as its remoteness and solitude. In light of this, the Government of Botswana encourages exclusive travel, thereby ensuring a fine balance is maintained between the number of guests visiting the country and the needs of its pristine environment and natural beauty. Any visitor to this region will certainly understand why!
A highlight of every journey to Botswana is the expansive Okavango Delta, covering an area of 18.000 Km2 and situated in the North-West of the country. This unique ecosystem forms the largest inland delta and is brought to life by seasonal flooding. The Okavango river drains the summer rainfall (January–February) from the Angola highlands and the waters then spread through the delta over the next four months (March–June). The flood peaks between June and August, during Botswana`s dry winter months, when the delta swells to three times its permanent size, attracting animals from far and wide and creating one of Africa’s greatest concentrations of wildlife. The Delta has an untold number of tributaries, best explored in a Mokoro (dugout-canoe), gliding noiselessly through water lilies admiring the prolific bird- and wildlife at close quarters. A truly unforgettable experience!
The Chobe National Park is probably Botswana’s next most well-known conservation area. It is a diverse area, stretching from the border at the Chobe River, to the Savute Channel, and beyond to the borders of the Moremi Game Reserve / Okavango Delta. The Park is best known for its large concentrations of elephants, along with good numbers of buffalo, antelope and predators. Birding is also excellent, with many migrant birds visiting from November to March.
The Kalahari (or “Kgalagadi” in Setswana) is a semi-arid desert extending some 900 000 km2 and spanning much of Botswana, as well as parts of Namibia and South Africa. With its distinctive red sands, it plays host to a fascinating diversity of wildlife and plants and provides a refuge for the few original hunters left, the San Bushmen!
The Makgadikgadi Pans, the world's largest salt pans, are the most visible remnants of a super-lake that was formed formed more than five million years ago. A visit to the Makgadikgadi area provides further insight into this fascinating country!
Africa up-close-and-personal: the diversity of species, the untouched vast wilderness, exclusive camps and breathtaking flying safaris exhilarate each guest which visits Botswana! This is a travel destination that can be combined well with other Southern African destinations such as South Africa and Namibia. In Botswana, the following motto applies: "Take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints"!
Have we got your mouth watering for a “Once-in-a-Lifetime“ Botswana experience?
Zambia: a country that invites you to discover the true meaning of an authentic African adventure !
Land of the legendary African walking safari, home of the Victoria Falls, the wild Zambezi River, breathtaking lakes and wetlands, a profusion of birds, abundant wildlife, and raw, pulsating wilderness, .......all in one diverse country.
This vast country (750 000 km2) is characterised by largely untouched and protected wildlife areas, well-known for their expansive grass plains, savannas, Miombo-forests and bushlands. The country is situated in the centre of Southern Africa, bordering Tanzania in the North, Malawi and Mozambique in the East, Zimbabwe & Botswana in the South. Acknowledged as one of the safest countries in the world to visit, Zambia's welcoming people live in peace and harmony, with only 10 million people living in a country half the size of Europe.
Two of the largest game reserves, Kafue National Park and the South Luangwa National Park entice you to explore their frontiers. The Kafue National Park, the oldest Park in Zambia and stretching over 22500km2, approximately half the size of Switzerland, is renowned for its abundant and untamed wildlife, as well its magnificent natural surroundings. The South Luangwa National Park is considered one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world – and with good reason! The concentration of game around the Luangwa river and its ox-bow lagoons is among the most intense in Africa. The Luangwa River is the most intact major river system in Africa and is the life blood of the park's 9050km2. The Park hosts a wide variety of wildlife birds and vegetation. The now famous ‘walking safari’ originated in this park and is still one of the finest ways to experience this pristine wilderness first hand.
The Lower Zambezi National Park is Zambia’s newest Park and as such is still relatively undeveloped, but it’s beauty lies in its pristine wilderness state. The diversity of animals is not as wide as the other big parks, but the opportunities to get close to game wandering in and out of the Zambezi channels (for instance via canoe safaris) are spectacular. Herds of elephant, some up to 100 strong, are often seen at the river’s edge. ‘Island hopping’ buffalo and waterbuck are common and the park also hosts good populations of lion and leopard. Listen out too for the ubiquitous cry of the fish eagle. The Park, approx. 4092 km2, lies opposite the famous Mana Pools Reserve in Zimbabwe, with the entire area on both sides of the river encompassing one massive wildlife sanctuary.
To round off your holiday, follow in the footsteps of David Livingstone and experience the splendour of the Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World-Heritage-Site. The mighty falls expand over 1700 metres wide and 100 metres high and will thrill you with the many activities on offer! There is something for everyone: whether it be the excitement of river rafting on the mighty Zambezi River, bungee-jumping into the deep gorge below the Falls, abseiling, a canoeing safari down the Zambezi, heli-flips, river surfing, excellent tiger-fishing and so much more!
Zambia can easily be combined with a Namibia, Botswana and South African trip. A spectacular sunset on the Zambezi and a night around the campfire are guaranteed to be an unforgettable highlight of every Africa journey.
Mozambique, a still largely untouched paradise on the Indian Ocean, is a country full of fascinating landscapes: 2700 Km of pristine and dream-like beaches, traditional villages… spiced with a Mediterranean flavour, stylish hotels in the harbour- and capital city Maputo. Although Mozambique has been independent since 1975, Fado-songs and delightful seafood (the prawns are world famous!), still remind of the recent Portuguese colonial times. Portuguese is still the official language, with English and French also widely spoken. Mozambique covers an area of 800 000km2 and has only 20 mio. Inhabitants, of which 1.2 mio. live in Maputo.
Situated on the South-Eastern coast of Africa, Mozambique has persevered through its colonial past and civil war and is emerging from its past to once again stake its claim as one of the jewels of Africa.
The endless palm-fringed coastline is washed by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and graced with long white beaches, excellent coral reefs and strings of pristine islands. The idyllic Bazaruto archipelago, off the coast of Inhambane province, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country, consisting of four main islands that make up one of the most beautiful places on the continent. The islands offer a exclusive tropical getaway, with shaded beaches and a marine park offering outstanding diving and snorkelling opportunities. Chic resort hotels and lodges offer a paradise of swimming in crystal-clear, warm turquoise water, scuba-diving, deep sea fishing and relaxing on kilometer-long sandy beaches - spectacular sunsets are of course part of the package! Dive into a magical world of rare sea turtles and dugongs, dolphins, whales, whale-sharks and Manta ray… this too is Africa!
